How does
a geek accountant come up with the
concepts and images portrayed in the book A
Forever Place?
I was a strict fundamentalist Christian until my
twenties when I walked away from that particular
dogma. I had just read Jonathan Livingston
Seagull and Illusions by Richard Bach
and decided my earlier religious beliefs were
too small and stifling. When Mom figured out I
wasn’t going to church we had a conversation
where she asked, “Well, you still believe in God
don’t you?”
Well, yes, I did…but not in the same way. He had
been my God-In-A-Box but now He is my
God-Is-Bigger-Than-Any-Box. I was taught that
God is omniscient. I struggled with that idea
because, if God knows everything, He must have
nothing left to learn. If that’s the case, then
isn’t God completely and totally bored?
God answered my question in the very next
moment—well, it was His next moment. For me it
was twenty years later when I had a dream. And
then six nights later I had another dream. The
story from these dreams was so profound, it took
my breath away, made my heart pound and sent
chills through my body. These experiences are
shared in our book A Forever Place when
God answers my question with, “No, I am not
bored. Check this out….”
Here at
AForeverPlace.com,
both I and my son will be posting
blogs on
topics from A Forever Place as well as
other related subjects. We hope our discussions
will expand your thoughts about life. |
